It's forcing me to be creative once a day. My results are sometimes terrible, but I still have to mail it!

I have needed something like this to get me through the difficult time I am having.

Mail out

I started the mail art 365 project which I will talk about another day. Here are my first three cards.

I lost my iPod. I'm moving.

I am in the middle of moving, and painting and packing and I cannot find my iPod anywhere which is how I take pictures!  

So...I will show you my first piece of mail art that I EVER made, from someone else's mail blog:

I made it to the 4th dimension!!!

This may sound silly. But I jumped in delight when this was posted.  I am no artist, but making the few postcards was SO fun, I loved it and I want to get better!  

I sent a few more out, and even got some back!!!   I have to find my iPod so I can photograph them.

Anyway, if you want me to mail me something, I will return one to you!

I'm behind

I'm painting my new house so I'm behind on mail. But these are from a private swap between my pal Patsy and I.

Mail out - Postcard art!

I have been reading a lot about mail art online, and reading lots of mail art blogs like this one!  I have seen some neat creations:

Anyway, I though I would try my hand at some so I grabbed some addresses off the internet and sent them out.

The receivers may mail me some back, and they may not.  That is the thing with mail art!   I hope I get something from these that I sent out, but if I don't, I'll keep trying!

Three swaps completed!

I finished three swaps!  They are in the mail and I am eagerly waiting their receivers comments.

I created two ATCs, one for a chocolate theme:

And another that required the use of a book page:

I decorated the envelopes quickly, but I still think they looked nice.

I just love making nice little mail packages for people.

Another close by adventure! We went to a county park with trails and picnic areas this time.

Making fun things

I made another ATC for a swap-bot swap.  I really liked this one mostly because the illustration is so cute!   I added a little bit, maybe just enough?  I just adore her sweet little coat.  This one was so fun.  It was a rainy day when I made it too!

I am also sending a few other illustrations out as well as a vintage book page.

First Spring Adventure

It is time for adventures.  It has been a ROUGH year for the Carter fmaily, but now that our family is complete, and the sun is out I am aiming to have at least one outside adventure with the kids a week.  Today was the first.  We took baby steps and just walked in neighborhood alleys.  The plants were common spring lawn plants but still beautiful and I am sure Lucy stopped at every patch of violets she saw.  Sam went into every neighbors lawn that had a swing, or a bike, or something to climb on.  For the first time in a long time the family smiled, took it easy, had not where in particular to go, and spent time together.

 

The sun is good.

Togetherness is warm.

I am back to using swap bot again. I got these nice ATCs in the mail from a swap. I signed up for a ton of swaps so that I will start being creative again. My job is so logical and my life is hectic with three young kids, but I really REALLY need to be creative again. I have some new goals that I am really excited about and I will write about them later. For now, I'll just say hello again, and show you what came in the mail today
